Trauma Party is a rising four-piece post-punk and garage punk band formed on Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand in late 2024. Describing their sound as a "post-punk desert storm," they merge raw garage punk energy with spiky, angular post-punk riffs and subversive pop sensibilities.

Buddy Olson – Wild-eyed, charismatic lead vocalist.
Derek Solomon – Veteran guitarist known for his work with Space Waltz and The Solomon Cole Band.
Ron Kramer (Ron K) – Bassist providing driving, propulsive basslines.
Kirsty Swanney – Underground punk rock drummer previously with Glass Cell and Dog Tooth Violet.

Key Releases & Achievements
Because You've Been Good (Debut EP, April 2026): A tight, punchy collection tackling political spin, societal exclusion, and manufactured outrage.
"Speak To Me": Released as a major radio promo single in 2026, it topped Christchurch’s RDU 98.5FM chart and peaked at #6 on the nationwide Student Radio Network chart. Its video was filmed at the Waiheke Dirt Track.
"Sharks": An early standout single featured on Most FM's NZ On Air Making Tracks segment.
"Are We in Heaven" & "Roll Up (It's The New Truth)": Core tracks that helped establish their early underground following.
Touring & Live Presence
Despite being relatively new to the scene, Trauma Party has quickly earned a fierce live reputation. They have executed multiple North Island tours and shared stages with international garage-psych mainstays like Guitar Wolf (Japan), The Jackets (Switzerland), and Australian industrial-crust outfit Schkeuditzer Kreuz and From The Jam (UK)
